Spotify has reached 138 million paid subscribers, saying that demand for music streaming has rebounded from its coronavirus-related weakness at the beginning of this quarter.
Spotify is expanding the availability of Spotify Premium Duo — a subscription built for two people, usually couples — to 55 new markets including India, it said Wednesday. Spotify Premium Duo will cost Rs. 149 per month in India, $13 in the US, and £13 in the UK.
With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic tightening purse strings, Spotify is bringing back two offers globally. Spotify is extending its free trial period to three months for new Premium subscribers. Spotify has discounted its annual subscription to Rs. 699 in India.
"We are fortunate that as a business we are able to operate with very little disruption and our hope is that providing music, information, and an escape for many can provide some joy and comfort," the company said in a statement.
