India’s Chingari app has crossed over 1 crore downloads in less than 22 days. The short video platform is also among the top two free apps on Google Play Store since a week. Less than a week ago, Chingari crossed over 25 lakh downloads – and the numbers continued to accelerate due to the TikTok ban in the country.
India’s Chingari app has seen a sudden surge in views and downloads soon after TikTok ban was announced last night. The app, said to be a TikTok alternative, crossed 25 lakh downloads recently. Co-founder Sumit Ghosh shared data to prove Chingari is growing fast since last night, after the government’s introduced its decision of banning Chinese apps.
Whether it is Mitron or Chingari, the Indian rivals of TikTok are hoping to grow their presence in the country and expand their user base by attracting several TikTokers to their platforms.
Chingari app, which is being touted as a new "Indian alternative" to TikTok, has crossed over 25 lakh downloads on Google Play store. According to the company, the app reached the latest milestone of 25 lakh downloads from roughly 6 lakh downloads in just ten days.
